| Jacob Kirkegaard DK ‘A I O N’ Audiovisual installation. 2006. 50 minutes De Deense kunstenaar Jacob Kirkegaard toont op GOGBOT 2 werken die zijn gerelateerd aan nucleaire energie. AION is een audiovisuele installatie die ontwikkeld is naar aanleiding van materiaal dat is opgenomen in de Verlaten Zones van Tsjernobyl. Naast de DRONES (audio) bestaat de installatie uit een videofilm van 50 minuten met opnames van 4 ruimtes in het rampgebied. Danish artist Jacob Kirkegaard shows 2 works related to nuclear energy at GOGBOT. AION is an audiovisual installation developed aft er a visit to the deserted areas of Chernobyl. | Tobias Kirstein & Jacob Kirkegaard I M P E R I A In spring 2004 Tobias Kirstein & Jacob Kirkegaard recorded sound inside the nuclear powerplant Barsebäck in Sweden. 1 year after the shut down of Barsebäck, the essence of these recordings were presented in the sound installation IMPERIA inside the Marble Church in Copenhagen. The installation lends its’ title from a poem by the danish poet Sophus Claussen. A poem that deals with the relationship between destruction and the untamed force of creation. IMPERIA is a state of mind, a condition. Rather than being merely documentation from the nuclear powerplant, IMPERIA is the force itself. IMPERIA has a strengthening effect on anyone in the area.
