| GOTO10 (Int.) GOTO10 is een internationaal collectief van kunstenaars en programmeurs dat zich bezighoudt met Free/Libre/Open Source Software (FLOSS) en digitale kunst. GOTO10 richt zich op het ondersteunen en ontwikkelen van digitale kunstprojecten en hulpmiddelen voor artistieke creatie en is actief in het vage grensgebied tussen software programmeren en kunst. GOTO10 is actief op servers, IRC-kanalen, mailinglijsten en streams. Monolith, een wall van 36 text-terminals uit het HAL 2001 computer hackerism festival Enschede zal nu worden gebruikt voor het GOTO10 project ‘/mode+v noise, dat bestaat uit het gezamenlijk creëren van elektronische muziek door het besturen van instrumenten met behulp van IRC, het oudste en meest verspreide chat systeem op het internet. THE MONOLITH for the HAL2001 festival of computer hackerism, an installation called ‘the monolith’ was created by the Enschede based computer-society Datanet Drienerlo. It consists of 36 text-terminals in frame, about half the size of the monolith from the "Space Odyssey" series by Arthur C. Clarke. The Monolith will now be used by the Rotterdam art-collective Goto10.org for their project ‘/mode +v noise’. This project is about cooperative generation of electronic music by controlling instruments through irc, the oldest and most widely spread chat system on the internet. http://vacca.goto10.org/mode+v |
